Why David is the "House-Spouse" and I am not:

Grandma Judy gave us a bread maker forever ago, but I never used it. So when we were packing stuff up, I decided that if I was going to keep it, I must vow to use it. So one Sunday, I decided to try it out. After the bread had finished baking, I went to take it out of the machine. After I scraped all of the yeast and about 2 cups of flour off of the top of the loaf, I cut into it to see this:




Yes, that is baked flour stuffed bread. Yes, it looks an awful lot like cocaine rocks. And yes, I do need to find a new recipe, thanks for the suggestion.

  1. 1 Cup warm water
    3 Tbls Oil
    3 Tbls Sugar
    2 tsp Salt
    3 C flour
    2 1/2 tsp yeast
    In that order - makes a 1.5 lb loaf. You will have to try crust settings till you get the one you like. Ours has a light, med, dark crust setting - I use light. :)
