First, I must put in an plug for the dresser. I like it so much better now! Check out this before and after (don't mind the bright purple paint job in the old bedroom):

I love it! It compliments the knobs so nicely! Yes, I was concerned about the dresser complimenting the knobs, but you would be, too, if you had awesome Anthropologie knobs! Word to the wise- I try to live my life with no regrets, but if I had waited just a little while longer before purchasing these beautiful, but pricey knobs, I could have found some really cute ones for WAY cheaper... immediately after taking the plunge, I started seeing cute knobs everywhere (Big Lots, Ross, TJ Maxx, Target...).

This one is something that I realized I have never given enough props to. My wonderful, talented, beautiful mother-in-law made David and I (once again, mostly me) this beautiful shadow box of our wedding memories the Christmas right after we got married. We never really ordered wedding prints to display in our home because we didn't want to see our faces everywhere we went in the house, so this has become our wedding showcase. And it's way better than any print. She included fabric from the bridesmaid dresses, the table runners, and my wedding dress. And she also included a couple pieces from the tissue paper banners that Jana slaved over (thanks, Jan! I still have them because I love them so so much!!). Basically, I just love it more and more as time goes by (cue the Jimmy Durante...). So thanks, Mom!

This adorable colorful little guy is the cutest cookie jar ever. Oh, beautiful treasure chest. What a glorious calling: to house cookies. My mother bought it for us (this was actually a gift that David was more excited about than me, if that's even possible) when we moved because we didn't have one. She seriously always does things like that for us. She always thinks of us. I miss her. :(

These are the famous tissue paper banners from our reception. I was blown away by how beautiful they were at the reception. Jana and her friends seriously pulled through with this most tedious task, but I love them, still. So we chose 3 that matched the living room color scheme and framed them next to the "LOVE" print (which is another thing I love!) that Amy E. gifted us for our wedding. Love love love.

This was inspired by this, which I had stumbled upon and liked. After our wedding, we had so many beautiful wedding cards that were hand made, hand picked, and all carried such sweet sentiments wishing us the happiest marriage ever. Well, I'm a big sentimental baby, so I wanted to keep them and create some kind of art piece with it. Since I'm not very creative and artistic (Lindsay took allllll those genes...little punk), I thought this would be easy enough. And it was. It was really fun. I didn't get to use all of them because I wanted to keep a variety of colors and designs, but I did write the names of who got us each card on the back of the butterflies. I would seriously recommend this for all you babies like me. It doesn't have to be a wedding; it could be for any occasion or no occasion at all and with any type of paper. Do it.

This is the "bookcase" that the butterflies sit on. I got it from IKEA a few years ago, but I still love it so much. Gosh, I'm incredibly excitable. And very, very materialistic.

This was a shower gift from one of the cutest women ever. She embroidered this for us. And tied around the frame was a note that said "Return this to me when you have little ones and I'll add them to the picture :)". So cute! But seriously, I kind of want to be this woman when I grow up.

This is how I now keep my necklaces. I found the butterflies in our yard sale leftovers and painted them to match the knobs. Not the bedroom, but the knobs on our dresser. And by the way, using the butterflies for jewelry was David's idea. David Heywood: Mathematician by day, decorator by night. Just kidding.

This is a print of an art project drawn by Daniel...something or other. Anyway, he drew a collage of a bunch of temples for an art class when he was 15, and his teacher talked him into reproducing it and selling it. And I'm glad she did, because I think it's too cool for school.

And last, but not least (I know, thank goodness, right?), this towel. I inherited this towel when I married David. Travis and Heather (Dav's sister and bro-in-law) bought this towel for him when he was getting ready to leave for his mission. It's pretty hilarious, but kind of gross. In fact, I've kind of always wanted to get rid of it. That it, of course, until I found the perfect place for it:

It cracks me up everytime I see it! But I'm pretty sure that our friends and other visitors just think we're disgusting. Ha. Who am I kidding? We are.
So there are some of my favorites. What are some of your favorite things??
That is the best towel ever. I need to find one as a Christmas gift for Devonn.
