I could drop it in the ocean, but the ocean is so big and it is such a small bird

I'm a Craigslist junkie. I check it daily, sometimes even multiple times a day. I've sold countless text books on Craigslist. I've laughed until tears were streaming down my face at the "Best Of Craigslist" posts (that would be this one... I could not even think about this post without crying for an entire day after reading it. The fact that I was running off of 4 hours of sleep over a 48 hour period may have had something to do with that, but still.). I also quite enjoy the missed connections that are frequently unintentionally hilarious.I've purchased many of our favorite pieces of furniture from Craigslist.

This awesome dresser (please forgive the clutter) that we are currently in the process of refinishing for the second time in 2 summers... my poor husband loves me so much that he agreed to refinish it since I didn't like the color after the first time. Yes, I'm very spoiled.
These nightstands that I bought for $20 and spray painted metallic silver.
This fantastic couch and loveseat set that rocks the living room!

Now, having admitted to being a very pleased Craigslist customer and an overall long time fan, I must say that I am tired of people trying to sell their crap for outrageous prices! I don't care that you thought that your sofa set was more beautiful than your first born child when you first purchased it brand new in 1986 for $900, I am not going to buy it for $700 because you think it's "just like new" and "very attractive". And just because you throw the word "vintage" in front of your ugly bedroom set does not make it worth that $1200 you want for it. Most people who buy furniture from Craigslist are broke or cheap (or both). I'll tell you right now, if I was going to drop a thousand dollars on a piece of furniture, I'd buy it brand new.Don't let people sell you a $50 couch for the price of their cherished memories.

  1. You and I are apparently craigslist twins. LoL. I check it multiple times daily (except now I have TWO craigslists to keep an eye on, though I can't buy anything from any other them for at least 3 weeks). And I have said the EXACT same thing about "vintage" being just a fancy word that makes crap furniture $1000 more expensive. My husband just laughs at me, though. :-(
