My lovey loves me like 10 monkies, yeah. Your lovey loves you like only only 3 or maybe maybe 4.

Warning: This post will contain all of the mushy, gooey, lovey-dovey crap that I restrain myself from saying all year long because I know how annoying it can be and I know y'all don't want to hear it. But it's my Davie's burfday and I'm allowed to sing his praises today. So if you don't want to hear it, move along, little amigos.

This is my boy toy. He's easily my favorite person in the world. He is the cutest and sweetest and most patient person ever. For those of you who don't know, I am extremely high strung and require a whole lot of work. I'm very needy for David's time and energy and affection and he always just gives it to me without a complaint or even a whimper or sigh. He's also very handsome. He has beautiful blue eyes, a perfect nose, and a body that was chizzled by the Greek Gods themselves. I married quite the little hunka hunka. This is David with President and Sister Morales, his mission president. David is so in tune with the Spirit. He always has such beautiful insights to the scriptures, to principles, and to our Heavenly Father and His plan for us. He really does inspire me to be better, not only because I want to be with him forever, but because I want to be like him. I am also so grateful that he served a mission. I honestly attribute a lot of the blessings we have and undoubtedly will receive to the fact that he served a mission. I'm grateful that he set that example to our future children. Plus, he speaks Spanish really well, which is a blessing in itself. And on top of that, how many of you can say you're married to a man who was shot while serving the Lord in Guatemala on his 21st birthday? Yeah, that's what I thought.
This is David with Professor Head at a math showcase at Point Loma University last month. He voluntarily completed a math project and presented it to lots of other math and science nerds from different universities and colleges in California. That event was quite the little gathering, but that's another story... The point is, this man is so extremely intelligent. Karina and I joke about his "deep thoughts" that he will vocalize at random. Like the time we were driving down the 405 in LA and David, mid-conversation, said, "Man, we are FLYING through the universe right now! I mean, think about it: We're going 75 mph down the road, but the Earth is rotating on top of the fact that we are rotating around the sun. It's so crazy." We laugh about it, but seriously, he thinks about things like that all the time. While my thoughts have drifted onto important things like, "How long would it take for that piece of candy to sit on the floor like that before I would throw it away instead of eating it?", he's thinking about more important things like, "How can I mathematically define the point in which I hear two separate distinct tones?" This boy is basically hilarious. I love the way his brain works. We have an incredible amount of inside jokes. I realized this as I was trying to explain one of them to illustrate just how funny he is, but then caught on that none of you would really think the story was funny. But David cracks me up. And he doesn't make me feel like an idiot. Let's face it, I'm pretty dumb sometimes in an attempt to be funny. But David actually thinks I'm funny and he goes along with my lame jokes and hair-brained ideas. And he dresses up with me for Halloween. ^ But he always ends up with the better costume. (Sarah was the one taking this picture, so she's in it in spirit)
The way a man treats his parents and siblings says a whole lot about how he will treat his wife and children. I decided long ago that I wanted to marry someone who had good family relationships. I more than got what I asked for. I love the way David interacts with his family. They all have such wonderful relationships. When David is struggling with something or needs advice, his parents are the first people he goes to (after me, of course) and his siblings are never far behind. He treats his family as the most special of friends. I know how much he loves them and thinks about and prays for them. I know how grateful he is for those eternal relationships. I am too.You guys thought I was kidding when I said I married him for his money, didn't you?

Anyway, I love this boy so much. I want to shout it from the rooftops! I love you, David! I hope you have a wonderful birthday!!

  4. Carla- You give me too much credit! But you're awesome and I love you. I'll get right on the next blog entry filling you in on that little hiccup in David's mission!

    Jana- Right back atchya!

Marie- No, it's not weird. In fact, David has actually said, "You remind me of my sisters, and I'm glad. I don't mean that in a creepy way. That came out weird." It was pretty funny, but I was not creeped out. In fact, I'm honored.
