Music makes the people come together

Well, last weekend was the Kern County Honor Music Festival, and Britney and I missed it. This is disappointing for three reasons:

1. I enjoy going to "classical" concerts (the music played isn't always from the classical era, but you get the idea), but even tickets for the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra are expensive, especially for couples. The honor music festival is free. Of course, the band, choir, and orchestra are all middle school kids, but hey.

2. They're nostalgic because I played in them when I was in middle school.

3. My dad had some students in the groups this year, and it would have been nice to support him.

Wait, who am I kidding? The real reason we were disappointed to miss the festival this year is that at the festival, you get to see this:



Glasses, braces, and a huge mouth. When he sang, he sang his guts out. You could fit two fits inside that mouth. When he wasn't singing, he had this insanely awesome smile.




Kid is awesome.
